Stupid question alert, If I have a string value of #BASELINE_EXAMPLE which I have just retrieved from a listview column, it is absolutely that, it is a string, not a constant. Is there anyway to attach the value of the real constant to this string? I fear the answer is a no. Hope this makes sense. :S

I don't understand this question. You might have some misconception about constants. First, strings can also be constants. There can be numeric and string constants. Second, you can never change the value of a constant. Otherwise it would be named variable
