[16 Feb 2006] PacMan Demo on OS4

Is anyone with OS4 (pre-release 4) able to run the PacMan demo? For me it always hard locks the system, and I need to reset the computer.

PS: All the other demos seem to work fine.

Yes, it runs fine with almost zero cpu load.

Try to start it from command line without sound. The pre3 system had problems with the music player. Under pre4 every part of Hollywood 2 should work flawless.

Thanks for the help.

The sound was the problem. More specifically, that one mod file (sidmix.mod) was the problem. If I have the script call a different mod (like the Elekfunk.mod from "3DText") it works fine.

Any idea why the sidmix.mod would be crashing my system?

Are you using the plain prerelease #4 or are you a beta-tester? Which lowlevel.library version do you have?

Not a betatester. lowlevel.library version = 51.6 (11/06/2005)

Okay, it's a bug in the OS4 version of Hollywood. I'll soon do a fix for it.
