How to get vim to parse .hws files with syntaxes checking
When exiting C and perl code I get nicely done coloring and syntaxes highlighting and indentation. I thought I heard that Hollywood supported that but I don't see it happening. I'm on Ubuntu 24.04...

At least on my Mint the syntax highlighting works, but without indentation. And it needs the correct upper case characters (not if but If).
Try it on Ubuntu 25.

Syntax highlighting from Hollywood works fine here in Vim. Using Debian Trixie (last week I updated from Bookworm); I don't remember having to enable to make it work.
You can also try SciTE, which has Hollywood support too (it can also run your script from the editor), but you have to enable it 'cause its "off" by default:
